Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Minimum Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject/specialty. DNB / DNB Super Speciality qualifications are also recognized.
- In case of shortage, Postgraduate Diploma holders in the relevant subject will be considered, but with a 10-mark deduction in the merit list compared to degree holders.
- Postgraduate qualifications recognized as equivalent under Medical Council teacher eligibility norms are also eligible.
Category-wise Distribution of Posts:
- 40% of posts: From members of the Bihar State Health Service cadre.
- 40% of posts: From doctors who completed their postgraduate degree course (under Residency Scheme) from medical/dental colleges within the State of Bihar.
- Remaining 20% of posts: From doctors who obtained their postgraduate degree (Residency Scheme) from recognized institutions outside the State of Bihar.

Reservation Policy
The panel will be prepared as per the reservation policy of the Government of Bihar. Reserved category applicants must submit a valid caste certificate (Non-Creamy Layer for BC/EBC) issued by the competent authority in Bihar. Failure to submit the required certificate will result in treatment as an Unreserved category candidate. Reservation for women, differently-abled candidates, and freedom fighters' grandchildren/granddaughters will be as per prescribed norms.
Salary Details
Selected candidates appointed as Senior Resident/Tutor will receive salary as per Pay Level-09 of the pay matrix, along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and other admissible allowances. Doctors already serving in the Bihar State Health Service cadre will continue to draw their existing pay with DA and other permissible allowances.

Selection Process
The selection will be based on a merit panel prepared for the tenure posts of Senior Resident/Tutor, considering educational qualifications and the applicable reservation policy.
