Bihar BTSC FSO Vacancy 2026 Notification Out For 105 Posts, Eligibility, Apply Online

Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has released Advertisement No. 29/2026 for the regular appointment of Food Safety Officers (FSO) under the Health Department, Bihar, Patna. A total of 105 Food Safety Officer vacancies have been announced. Eligible candidates can apply online from 25 September 2026 to 24 October 2026.

BTSC has announced 105 vacancies for Food Safety Officer posts. The vacancy distribution includes 41 Unreserved, 11 EWS, 17 SC, 2 ST, 18 EBC, 12 BC and 4 Backward Class Women posts. A 35% horizontal reservation for Bihar resident women is applicable as prescribed in the notification.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in the prescribed relevant discipline from a recognised university or institute. Eligible disciplines include Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry and Medicine. The notification also specifies specialised food technology and agricultural science subjects, along with recognised medical qualifications including MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BAMS and B.S.R.M.S. Qualifications notified by FSSAI from time to time with prior approval of the Central Government may also be considered.

Bihar BTSC FSO Age Limit 2026

The minimum age is 21 years as on 01 August 2026. The maximum age is 37 years for Unreserved Male candidates, 40 years for Unreserved Female and BC/EBC candidates, and 42 years for SC/ST candidates. Applicable relaxation is provided according to the provisions mentioned in the BTSC notification.

Bihar BTSC FSO Application Fee 2026

The application fee is ₹100. The fee is to be paid online through the prescribed payment modes such as debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI. The payment must be completed by 24 October 2026.

Bihar BTSC FSO Selection Process 2026

The selection process is based on a Written Competitive Examination conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination carries 100 marks and consists of 100 objective-type questions. The examination duration is 2 hours. Each correct answer carries 1 mark and 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates qualifying the written examination are considered for document verification as per the recruitment rules.
