Bihar STET 2026 — Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:

• Paper-I (Secondary Level): Graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject/subject group AND a B.Ed. (or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. A 45% marks relaxation is provided for specified categories.
• Paper-II (Higher Secondary Level): Post-Graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject AND a B.Ed. (or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. A 45% marks relaxation is provided for specified categories.

Note: Detailed qualification norms for specific categories like Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Dance, and Special School Teacher are provided in Annexures (Parishisht-1 & 2) of the official notification.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age (UR Male): 37 years
• Maximum Age (UR Female, BC, EBC): 40 years
• Maximum Age (SC/ST): 42 years
• Age Relaxation: Divyang candidates are eligible for a 10-year relaxation. Ex-Servicemen can avail relaxation equivalent to their service period plus 3 years.

Bihar STET 2026 Exam Pattern & Qualifying Marks

• Exam Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT)
• Type of Questions: Objective Type
• Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes per paper
• Total Marks: 150 (Subject Content: 100, Teaching Aptitude: 50)
• Negative Marking: No negative marking
• Normalization: Scores will be normalized for multi-shift exams.

How to Apply for Bihar STET 2026

1. Visit the official STET registration portal at stetregistration.cbrt.co.in .
2. Complete the first-time registration process to obtain your User ID and Password (sent via SMS/e-mail).
3. Log in using your credentials and accurately fill in the online application form with all personal, educational, and category details.
4. Upload a recent colour photograph (20 KB–200 KB, 3.5cm × 4.5cm) and a scanned signature (10 KB–50 KB) in the specified format.
5. Preview your application to verify all entered information. Save the details to make any necessary corrections before final submission.
6. Pay the examination fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
7. Submit the application form after successful fee payment. Ensure all details are correct as no modifications will be allowed post-submission.
8. Download and print a copy of the submitted application form for your records.
