Eligibility Criteria for Scientist-'B'

Nationality:

Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee/person of Indian origin meeting specific migration conditions.

GATE Score Requirement:

A valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026 in the corresponding paper code (CS, DA, or EC) is mandatory. Equal weightage will be given to scores from all three years.

Educational Qualification:

• Computer Science and Information Technology (CS): Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (4-year course) in relevant disciplines (e.g., CS, IT, AI, Cybersecurity) OR Master's Degree in Science (CS, Computer Application) OR MCA.
• Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA): Master's Degree in Science disciplines (e.g., Software System, IT, AI, Data Science, Machine Learning).
• Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC): Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (4-year course) in Electronics, E&C, E&T, etc. OR Master's Degree in Science (Electronics, Applied Electronics, VLSI Design).

The essential qualification must be obtained by the cut-off date. No prior work experience is required.

Age Limit (as on 17.08.2026):

Additional age relaxation of 5 years for candidates serving in Government Organizations.

Selection Process

The selection process for CERT-In Scientist-'B' involves the following stages:
