The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor across 18 departments at the Tura and Shillong campuses.

Vacancy Details (Department-wise)

A total of 149 vacancies are available across 18 departments. The breakdown is as follows:

• Professor: 18 Posts
• Associate Professor: 46 Posts
• Assistant Professor: 85 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

Professor

• Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject with active research engagement.
• Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a total Research Score of 120 (as per UGC Regulations, 2018).
• Minimum 10 years’ teaching/research experience at university/college level.
• OR an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the concerned subject from any academic institution/industry, with significant contribution to knowledge.

Associate Professor

• Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject.
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Minimum 8 years’ teaching or research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor.
• Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a total Research Score of 75 (as per UGC Regulations, 2018).

Assistant Professor

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned subject. Relaxation of 5% (to 50%) for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
• Must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET (UGC-CSIR) or SET-NE in the concerned subject.
• Exemption from NET/SLET/SET for candidates with a Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016.

Reservation of vacancies will be as per the existing Reservation Policy and Guidelines of the Government of Meghalaya.

Pay Scale

The basic pay for the recruited positions is as follows:

Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances are payable as per Government of Meghalaya rates.

Selection Process

The selection process involves two stages:

1. Shortlisting of candidates: Based on academic score and research score/publications as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
2. Personal Interview: Final selection is based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview. Candidates will be called for interviews in a ratio of 1:3 for Assistant Professor, 1:5 for Associate Professor, and 1:5 for Professor.

Only candidates who produce all required original documents will be called for the Personal Interview.
