Age Limit

• A one-time relaxation of 2 years in the upper age limit has been granted, as stated in the letter No. EDUC-B015/14/2025 issued by the Secretary (Education), Government of Himachal Pradesh on 13.06.2025.

Essential Qualifications

The candidate must have any one of the following educational qualifications:

• 10+2 / Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year JBT/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from an institute affiliated with HPBOSE. OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known). OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed., as per NCTE (Recognition Norms), 2002. OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
• Graduation and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. OR
• Post Graduation with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

AND

• Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or any other agency authorized by the Government.

Relaxation

• 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for both educational qualification and TET will be provided to SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates.

Other Important Conditions

• The candidate must have passed Matric and 10+2 from a school/institution located within Himachal Pradesh.
• This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
• Qualifications notified by NCTE on the date of advertisement will also be valid and accepted by the recruiting agency.

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of customs, traditions, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability to work in the specific conditions of the state.

Salary

"Junior Basic Teacher (as Trainee) will receive a monthly salary of ₹17,820, which is 60% of the first level of the applicable pay matrix as per HP Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2022."

Mode of Selection

• The selection will be based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) or Written Screening Test.
• The exam will be of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours.
• The screening test will consist of 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions, each carrying ½ mark.
