Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a prestigious Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has announced a significant recruitment drive for Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering). This is a golden opportunity for young engineering graduates to gain valuable experience in a leading public sector undertaking.

Online applications are invited for 358 Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) posts across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation streams. Important Dates

Vacancy Details: State-Wise Training Slots (358 Posts)

HPCL has announced tentative training slots for Graduate Apprentices, distributed state-wise. Reservation policy will be applied as per the percentage applicable to each respective state.

Note: The notification does not provide a branch-wise split of slots within each state.

Age Limit (as on 31-07-2026)

• General Age Limit: 18 to 25 years
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC-NC: 3 years
• PwBD (VH/HH/OH/MD): 10 years

Educational Qualification and Eligibility

• Engineering Graduation: Candidates must possess an Engineering Graduation in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation streams, recognized by the Board of Technical Education/UGC/AICTE or equivalent authority.
• Graduation Year: Candidates must have completed their engineering graduation on or after 01-09-2023. Those who completed earlier are not eligible.
• Aggregate Marks: UR/OBC-NC candidates: 60% aggregate marks
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates: 50% aggregate marks

Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

NATS Registration: Only candidates registered and approved on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) portal and by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) will be considered.

Prior Apprenticeship/Experience: Candidates with an existing apprenticeship contract with any other organization on the NATS portal or with one year or more of work experience are not eligible to apply.

Monthly Stipend

Selected Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000/-. This comprises Rs. 20,500 paid directly by HPCL and Rs. 4,500 paid to apprentices by the Government of India under the DBT scheme. HPCL will not provide housing assistance or any other allowance beyond this fixed stipend.

Selection Process

1. Application Screening: Applications will be screened based on the merit percentage as per eligibility criteria and the number of training slots notified. Incomplete or ineligible applications will be summarily rejected.
2. Document/Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document/certificate verification in a ratio of 1:5 against notified training slots. Communication will be via registered email. No TA/DA will be paid for this process.
3. Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on candidates who report for verification and are found suitable.
4. Apprenticeship Contract & Verification: Selected candidates must accept a tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS website and submit a medical certificate and undergo police verification.

How to Apply Online for HPCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026

1. Visit the Apprentice Application portal at jobs.hpcl.co.in
2. Register using the "Sign up for New Registration" option.
3. Login credentials will be sent to your registered email ID.
4. Sign in using the received email ID and password.
5. Select the Engineering Branch from the dropdown as per the advertisement.
6. Fill in Personal Details and click "Validate your details."
7. Click "Save & Next" to proceed to Contact Details.
8. Select State of Training (only one preference can be selected).
9. Validate details and proceed to Qualification Details.
10. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature.
11. Recheck all details under "Preview" and edit if required.
12. Read the declaration carefully, check the declaration boxes, and click "Final Submit."
13. A confirmation email with the HPCL Application Number will be sent after submission.

Note: Candidates are allowed to fill only one application; multiple applications will be rejected.

Important Instructions

• HPCL does not guarantee permanent or temporary employment after successful completion of apprenticeship.
• Apprentices who complete the training successfully will receive relaxation/preference in future recruitment norms (age relaxation to the extent of the apprenticeship period, and an additional 5% grace marks in CBT for shortlisting in subsequent recruitment).
• Furnishing wrong or false information will lead to disqualification.
