- Nationality: Open to Indian candidates from all districts of all States and all Union Territories of India.
- Educational Qualification: Passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Central, State or Union Territory Government recognised School/Board, as on the date of registration.

Musical Experience Certificate: Candidates must possess any one of the following: Grade 5th or equivalent (or above) in one instrument from a recognised music institute such as TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory Bangalore, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, or Berklee School of Music, OR
A Diploma or equivalent in music for candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from any recognised university, OR
Certificate of participation/awards presented at various events (applicable for candidates performing on blowing instruments with staff notation as per the educational QRs).
Age Limit: Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible. The upper age limit at enrolment is 22 years (if a candidate clears all stages of selection).

Candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK surgery will not be accepted. Body tattoos are permitted only on the inner forearm, back (dorsal) of the hand, or as per tribal custom; offensive/obscene/indecent tattoos anywhere on the body are disqualifying. Consumption, possession, storage or distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is a reject criterion, and the IAF follows a zero-tolerance policy on alcoholism and substance abuse.
Salary and Pay Package
Agniveervayu (Musician) will receive an Agniveer package of ₹30,000 per month in the first year, with a fixed yearly increment. Selection Process
Selection for Agniveervayu (Musician) Intake 01/2027 involves the following stages, conducted in sequence:
- Verification of Eligibility Documents: Original or DigiLocker-verified educational certificates and other applicable documents are scrutinised at the rally venue before the Physical Fitness Test.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT-I): 1.6 km run: within 7 minutes for male candidates, within 8 minutes for female candidates.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT-II): Conducted after 10 minutes of recuperation: Male candidates: 10 push-ups (1 minute), 10 sit-ups (1 minute), 20 squats (1 minute), with rest breaks between each exercise.
- Female candidates: 10 sit-ups (1 minute 30 seconds), 15 squats (1 minute), with rest breaks between exercises.
- English Written Test: Objective type, 30 questions, 30 minutes duration, based on Matriculation/10th CBSE syllabus. Candidates must qualify this test. Answers are marked on an OMR sheet, and results are declared the same day. Marking Pattern for English Written Test 1 mark for every correct answer.
