The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Odisha Region has released a recruitment notification for meritorious sportspersons for 12 vacancies under the Sports Quota. The posts include Tax Assistant, Stenographer Grade-II, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).

Post-Wise Vacancy Details

Age Limit (As on 01-08-2026)

• Tax Assistant: 18 to 27 years
• Stenographer Grade-II: 18 to 27 years
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 to 25 years

Age relaxation for sportspersons up to 5 years (10 years for SC/ST) is applicable.

Educational Qualification & Skill Test

• Tax Assistant: Bachelor's Degree with data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
• Stenographer Grade-II: 12th pass with skill test (dictation @ 80 WPM, transcription in 50 mins English/65 mins Hindi on computer).
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation (10th pass).

Sports Eligibility Criteria

Only meritorious sportspersons who have represented a State or the country in recognized sports competitions are eligible. Specific achievements in various games are listed in the notification.

Selection Process

• Tax Assistant & Stenographer Grade-II: Shortlisting based on sports achievements followed by a skill test.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Selection based purely on the merit list from sports achievement scores.
