Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the JKSSB Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the prescribed domicile, educational qualification, and age requirements. These will be determined as per the applicable cut-off dates, i.e. 03.11.2026 for qualification and other criteria and 01.01.2026 for age.

• Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before the prescribed cut-off date.
• Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification for the post/cadre applied for. The qualification will be verified during the document verification stage.

Educational Qualification

Candidates possessing qualifications other than those prescribed will not be eligible and their candidature may be summarily rejected at any stage of the selection process.

Age Limit

The age of candidates will be calculated as on 01.01.2026.

• Ex-servicemen may deduct their period of service in the Armed Forces from their actual age. If the resulting age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age limit by more than 3 years, they will be considered to have fulfilled the age condition.
• Candidates claiming additional weightage benefits under the J&K Appointment to Class IV (Special Recruitment) Rules, 2020 as Casual Workers are eligible for an additional 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.

Application Fee

The application fee can be paid only through online modes such as Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. The fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates for both Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts will be placed in Pay Level SL1, with a pay scale of:

₹14,800 – ₹47,100

as per Annexure-D of the notification.

Selection Process

The selection for JKSSB Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker Recruitment 2026 will be based on an objective-type written examination followed by document verification. The overall merit will be determined using written examination marks and applicable additional weightage marks.

• The written examination will consist of objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in English only.
• Negative marking will apply: one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Total marks will be distributed between the written examination and additional weightage marks, with the distribution varying according to the cadre as shown below.

Documents Required for Document Verification

Candidates will be required to produce the following documents:

• Original and self-attested photocopies of the online application form and all certificates.
• Valid Domicile Certificate as per the prescribed cut-off date.
• Educational qualification certificates.
• Category/Reservation Certificate in the prescribed format, wherever applicable.
• Two recent passport-size coloured photographs, not more than 6 months old, and a valid Photo ID proof.
• Certificates supporting any claim for additional weightage, such as no government-employed family member, widow/divorced/orphan status, or casual worker status, wherever applicable.

1. Visit the official JKSSB website at www.jkssb.nic.in after the application window opens on 05.10.2026.
2. Register/Login to the online application portal as per the instructions available on the website.
3. Carefully enter personal, educational, and category details in the online application form.
4. Upload the live photograph and signature in the prescribed size of 10 KB to 20 KB.
5. Pay the prescribed application fee through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
6. Carefully review all entries before final submission, as no correction will be allowed after submission.

Important Instructions

• Only one online application per Item Number is permitted. Submission of multiple applications for the same Item Number may result in cancellation of candidature.

• Name, date of birth, and parents' names must be entered exactly as mentioned in the Matriculation Certificate.
• Requests for correction/change in submitted application details will not be entertained.
