JNU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility varies greatly by post, ranging from 10th pass for Multi Tasking Staff to postgraduate degrees with significant experience for Group A roles. Candidates must meet the prescribed qualification and experience as of the application closing date.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age for most posts: 40 years
• Maximum Age for Executive Engineer posts: 45 years

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India norms:

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC (NCL): 3 Years
• PwD: 10 Years
• PwD + OBC (NCL): 13 Years
• PwD + SC/ST: 15 Years
• Ex-Servicemen / ECO / SSCOs: As per GoI norms
• Permanent Govt. / Autonomous Body employees (min. 3 years regular service): 5 Years or actual years of service (whichever is less)

No upper age limit for regular JNU employees with at least three years of regular service. A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks is also available for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates.

JNU Recruitment 2026: Application Fee

The application fee is non-refundable and varies by post group and category. PwD candidates are exempted.

JNU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026: Selection Process

The selection process is multi-stage and post-dependent:

1. Stage 1 – Paper I (All Posts): Computer Based Test (CBT) - MCQ type, 2 hours, 300 marks (150 questions). Covers General Awareness, Reasoning Ability, Mathematical Ability, Language (English or Hindi), and Computer Awareness. Negative marking of 1/4th for wrong answers.
2. Stage 2 – Paper II (Selected Posts Only): Domain-specific MCQ test, 1.5 hours, 100 marks (50 questions). Applicable for posts like Assistant Registrar, Section Officer, Executive Engineer, etc.
3. Stage 3 – Skill Test (Qualifying, Selected Posts): For Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Assistant, and Junior Assistant. This test is qualifying in nature.

Note: There is no interview for Group B and Group C posts as per MoE guidelines.
