Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2026: 2314 KSRP, KSISF & IRB Posts

The Karnataka State Police Department (Directorate General of Police, Recruitment) has released two significant recruitment notifications, both dated 10 July 2026. Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens.
• Local Cadre: For Kalyana Karnataka local cadre posts, candidates must possess a valid local candidature certificate as per Article 371(J).
• Marital Status: Specific rules apply regarding multiple living spouses, requiring prior government permission.
• Physical & Mental Fitness: Candidates must be mentally and physically fit, free from any defects that could hinder duties.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed 2nd PUC or an equivalent qualification on or before the last date of application. Recognized equivalent qualifications include:

• Class 12 examination by CBSE, ICSE, or other state boards.
• Higher secondary education courses/certificates through NIOS.
• A one-year vocational/ITI course after SSLC combined with a pass in one PUC subject through NIOS (with specific language/technical subject conditions).
• A three-year diploma after SSLC from a recognized technical education institution.

Note: All candidates must also hold a Kannada language qualification up to the 12th standard/PUC level, unless exempted.

Age Limit (as on 10 August 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• General/Unreserved Candidates: Up to 33 years
• SC / ST / Category-1 / 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B Candidates: Up to 35 years
• Candidates residing in Karnataka forest areas (notified nomadic/tribal communities): Up to 38 years

Age limits include a 5-year relaxation as per Government Order. Ex-servicemen also receive relaxation as per rules.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of ₹37,500 - ₹76,100 per month. National Pension System (NPS) benefits will be applicable.

Application Fee

• General Merit and Category 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B: ₹750
• SC / ST / Category-1 / Ex-servicemen: ₹500

Fee must be paid online and is non-refundable. An additional ₹100 is charged for each extra post/category selected within the same Kalyana Karnataka application.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination: An offline OMR-based exam on General Studies and Mental Ability (100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes). Negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST): Shortlisted candidates (1:5 ratio) undergo height, chest, and weight measurements.
3. Physical Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying in nature, no marks awarded. Candidates must clear prescribed run, jump, and shot-put standards.
4. Medical Examination: Conducted by a Medical Board to assess vision, hearing, and overall physical fitness.
5. Final Merit List: Prepared based on written exam marks of candidates who qualify PST, PET, and the medical test.
