Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification and Experience

Age Limit

  • The upper age limit for most posts is not more than 40 years as on 01 July 2026.
  • For the Technician (Welder) post, the age limit is 40 years as on 30 June 2026.
  • Age relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years to SC/ST candidates, if applying against the post reserved for their respective category.

Salary / Monthly Remuneration

Monthly remuneration is grouped into three tiers based on the post, and it also varies slightly depending on whether the place of posting falls under A, B, or C class city classification. The consolidated figure already includes Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Conveyance, and Mobile Allowance.

The annual remuneration will increase by 4% of the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year, subject to KRCL's requirement and discretion. Additional facilities include applicable benefits under the New Labour Code-2026 (Insurance, Gratuity, Bonus), TA for official travel beyond the project area, complementary Railway Pass for duty travel, rest house/hotel reimbursement while on duty, 15 days of fully earned leave per 6 months (accumulable but not encashable), and 8 days of Casual Leave per year. No overtime allowance is paid, as the fixed monthly remuneration already accounts for occasional extra working hours.

Application Fee

The KRCL notification does not mention any application fee for this recruitment. Candidates only need to prepare the application form and required documents to attend the walk-in interview; however, selected candidates are required to execute an indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited on a stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.

Selection Process

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview process, with an optional elimination round if the number of candidates is high, followed by a final interview and merit list. Here are the steps as described in the notification.

  1. Candidates arrive at the venue and register with the nominated KRCL official between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on the interview date for their post.
  2. A Group Discussion (GD) or another elimination round, such as a written test, may be introduced depending on the number of candidates; only those who clear this round proceed further.
  3. Candidates are interviewed by a nominated Committee, and a merit list is drawn based on interview performance, qualification, and post-qualification experience.
  4. The decision of the Nominated Committee of KRCL is final and binding.

After preliminary screening of applications submitted in person, only provisionally eligible candidates will be interviewed. Candidates should come prepared to stay for a minimum of 2 days, if required, at their own cost, as no train/bus fare or TA/DA will be paid by the Corporation.

Required Documents

Candidates must carry original certificates along with one set of self-attested photocopies to the walk-in interview, and applications missing any of these documents may be rejected outright. Here is the complete list.
