Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree awarded by a University established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification. Candidates awaiting final results can also apply provisionally.

Selection Process
The selection process involves two stages:
- Preliminary Examination: An objective-type screening test (400 marks total, two papers of 200 marks each). Marks are not counted for final merit. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
- Main Examination & Personality Test: Main Examination: Descriptive/conventional type, consisting of 5 compulsory papers (250 marks each) and 2 qualifying language papers (Kannada and English, 150 marks each). Minimum 35% in qualifying papers is mandatory. Total written exam marks: 1250.
- Personality Test (Interview): Carries a maximum of 25 marks.
