The High Court of Madras has released Notification No. 217/2026 for the recruitment of 115 Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts for its e-Sewa Kendras. A total of 115 Data Entry Operator posts are available on a contractual basis, distributed across the Principal Seat of Madras High Court, 36 districts of Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Candidates can apply for only one district.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.09.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years (Candidates should not have been born before 02.09.1991)

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following degrees:

• B.Sc (Computer Science) / B.Sc (IT) / BCA
• B.E. (Computer Science) / B.Tech
• MCA / M.Sc (Computer Science) / M.E (Computer Science) / M.Tech / M.Sc (IT)

Application Fee

There is no examination fee for this recruitment (Nil).

Selection Process

The selection process involves three stages:

1. Written-cum-Skill Test (50 Marks): This component has a duration of 60 minutes. Written Examination (25 Marks): 25 Multiple Choice Questions on Windows & Linux Basics, Networking, PDF & Document Handling, Video Conferencing, Hardware Troubleshooting, and Internet Basics. Minimum qualifying marks: 10.
2. Skill Test (25 Marks): Practical assessment on Scanning & Converting Documents to OCR, PDF to OCR conversion, LibreOffice handling, LAN configuration, and Hardware Troubleshooting. Minimum qualifying marks: 10.
3. Viva Voce (Maximum 50 Marks): Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio based on Written-cum-Skill Test marks. The Viva Voce assesses mental alertness, skills, attitude, ethics, character, and experience in various computer-related domains. Minimum qualifying marks: 20.
4. Document Verification: Final selection is made after scrutiny and verification of original documents.

The final selection list is based on the combined marks from the Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce.

Nature of Work

Selected Data Entry Operators will be responsible for a variety of tasks at e-Sewa Kendras, including:

• Handling inquiries about case status, hearing dates, and other case details.
• Assisting with Video Conference (VC) appearances and hearings.
• Facilitating online applications for certified copies and e-Filing of petitions.
• Performing data entry work related to e-Services.
• Assisting with online purchase of e-Stamp papers/e-Payments.
• Helping applicants with Aadhaar-based digital signatures and eCourts Mobile App.
• Guiding citizens on free legal services and disposal of traffic challans in virtual courts.
• Any other work assigned by the Registrar (IT-cum-Statistics).
