MRPL Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 26 Posts

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a Schedule 'A' Mini Ratna Central PSE and a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), has released an official notification (Advt. No. 94/2026) for the recruitment of Assistant Engineers in 'E2' Grade (Management Cadre) through GATE 2026. This is a golden opportunity for eligible engineering graduates to join a prestigious Public Sector Enterprise. A total of 26 vacancies are available across Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical disciplines. Interested candidates must apply online before the last date.

Vacancy Details (Total: 26 Posts)

*Mechanical and Electrical posts are under a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) exclusively for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidates; no UR/EWS posts are notified in these two disciplines. Chemical discipline posts are open to all categories.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Essential Qualification:

• Mechanical: BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical: BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Chemical: BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology / Petrochemical Engineering / Petrochemical Technology

GATE Paper & Code: Candidates must have a valid GATE-2026 score in the respective paper (Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Chemical Engineering (CH)). Marks from any previous or other GATE examination will not be accepted.

Minimum Aggregate Marks in Qualifying Degree:

• UR / EWS / OBC (NCL): 60%
• SC / ST / PwBD: 50%

Important: Candidates having any other degree or combination degree (e.g., Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, Construction Engineering) are not eligible. Nationality: Indian Nationals only.

Age Limit (as on 19 September 2026)

• UR / EWS: Maximum 27 years
• OBC (NCL): Maximum 30 years (+3 years relaxation)
• SC / ST: Maximum 32 years (+5 years relaxation)
• PwBD (min. 40% disability): +10 years relaxation over applicable category limit
• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): As per Government of India rules

Note: Age relaxation for OBC(NCL)/SC/ST is applicable only for posts reserved for the respective category.

Pay Scale and Benefits

Selected candidates will be placed in the 'E2' Grade with a starting basic pay of ₹50,000/- in the scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000. In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive DA (IDA pattern), HRA/Township accommodation, Perks & Allowances under cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, and other benefits as per Company Rules. Candidates will be placed on training-cum-probation as per Company Rules.

Service Bond:

• General: ₹3,00,000/-
• EWS / OBC(NCL) / SC / ST / PwBD: ₹50,000/-

Selected candidates must serve MRPL for a minimum of 3 years from the date of joining (including training-cum-probation).

Selection Process

1. GATE-2026 Marks: Initial shortlisting is based purely on valid GATE-2026 marks (out of 100).
2. Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates are called for GD and PI in the ratio of 1:5 (1 post : 5 candidates), category/reservation-wise.
3. Tie-breaking: In case of a tie in GATE marks, the candidate with higher marks in the essential qualification (degree) will be ranked higher.
4. Document Verification: Conducted at the time of Personal Interview.
5. The final merit list is prepared as per MRPL's prevailing rules.

How to Apply

Candidates must apply online through the MRPL careers portal by following these steps:

1. Visit www.mrpl.co.in/careers and click on "Advt. No. 94/2026: Recruitment of Assistant Engineers in 'E2' Grade of Management Cadre through GATE 2026".
2. Click "Click here to register online" to generate your Login ID and Password using a valid email ID and mobile number.
3. Sign in and fill in all required details in the online application form. An Application ID will be generated.
4. Application Fee:
   • ₹118/- for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates. Pay online via SBI e-Collect.
   • SC/ST/PwBD/ESM candidates are exempted from fee payment.
5. Upload scanned photograph, signature, GATE-2026 score card, and category/PwBD/EWS certificate as applicable.
6. Submit the application and save the PDF of the submitted online application for your records. No printout needs to be sent to MRPL, unless forwarding through proper channel.

Government/PSU/Autonomous body employees must either forward their printed application through Proper Channel or produce an NOC at the time of interview.

Documents Required (at Document Verification / Interview)

• Proof of age (SSLC/Matriculation/Birth certificate)
• All mark sheets and certificates for Class X, XII, Diploma, and Degree/PG Degree
• GATE-2026 Score Card
• Caste certificate [SC/ST/OBC(NCL)] or Income & Asset Certificate (EWS), if applicable
• PwBD certificate (minimum 40% disability), if applicable
• Ex-servicemen status proof, if applicable
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) or proper-channel forwarding, for Government/PSU/Autonomous body employees
• Recent passport-size photograph and signature (scanned copies for online upload)

Important Conditions

• Candidates called for GD/PI will be reimbursed travelling expenses (3AC train fare or AC bus fare limited to 3AC fare) by the shortest route.
• Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.
• Only one online application should be submitted per candidate.
• Selected candidates are liable to be transferred anywhere in India or abroad within MRPL or ONGC group companies.
• Application fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
