NIC Scientist Recruitment 2026 Notification Out

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has released the recruitment notification for 153 Scientist-D and Scientist-C posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website. The application process has started and will continue until April 30, 2026.

• Last Date for Apply Online: 30-04-2026

Age Limit:

• Scientist-D: Maximum 40 Years
• Scientist-C: Maximum 35 Years
• Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology, DOEACC B-Level, AMIE, GINATE, or a Master’s Degree in Science (MSc), Computer Application (MCA), Engineering/Technology (ME/M-Tech), or Philosophy (MPhil) in specified fields like Physics, Electronics, Computer Sciences, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, GIS, Cyber Law, Bioinformatics, etc.

Experience Required:

• Scientist-C: Minimum 4 years
• Scientist-D: Minimum 8 years

Application Fee:

• General / All Others: Rs. 800/-
• SC / ST / PwBD / Women candidates: Nil

Selection Process:

The selection process involves three stages:

1. Screening Test: Qualifying in nature (Online MCQ).
2. Evaluation of Academic Records: Based on academic records and experience (120 marks).
3. Personal Interaction / Interview: (30 marks).

Final Merit List will be based on the combined marks of Evaluation and Interview (Total 150 marks).
