National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) has announced a recruitment drive for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). There is one (01) vacancy for this position.

Eligibility Criteria for NIT Silchar JRF Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

• A valid GATE score is mandatory.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 35 years as on the closing date of application, i.e., 03 September 2026.

Desirable Experience

• A solid understanding of digital communication, probability theory, optimization, and wireless communications is crucial.
• Experience with programming languages like MATLAB or Python is desirable.

Relaxation on Qualification and Age

SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD candidates will be provided relaxation in qualification and age as per the Government of India Rules.

Selection Process for NIT Silchar Junior Research Fellow

Salary and Emoluments

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 37,000/-. Additionally, House Rent Allowance (HRA) @10% will be provided if institute accommodation is not offered.
