NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Recruitment 2026: Overview
NTPC Limited, India's largest integrated power utility (A Govt. of India Enterprise), has released the Assistant Chemist Trainee (ACT) Recruitment Notification 2026 (Advertisement No. 09/26). This recruitment drive aims to fill 40 vacancies for the post of Assistant Chemist Trainee.
Candidates with a Regular/Full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University/Institute are eligible to apply online. The selected candidates will join as Assistant Chemist Trainees at various Stations/Projects/JVs/Subsidiaries of NTPC across India.

A total of 40 projected vacancies have been announced for the post of Assistant Chemist Trainee (ACT). The vacancies are distributed across various categories:

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a Regular/Full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University/Institute recognized by appropriate statutory authority with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- SC, ST, and PwBD candidates with passing marks are also eligible.
- Final year/semester students who expect their result by 31.07.2026 may also apply, provided they submit the prescribed final/provisional degree dated 31.07.2026 or before, if selected.
Age Limit (as on 10 July 2026)
- Maximum Age for General (UR / EWS): 27 years
- Age Relaxation:SC / ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government guidelines
Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and can be paid online (Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card) or offline (through State Bank of India).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Eligible candidates will undergo an All India based Online Selection Test. Based on category-wise merit, candidates will be shortlisted for document verification/further selection process. Candidates must qualify separately in both parts of the Online Selection Test.

Shortlisting for document verification will be based on merit in the Online Selection Test.
Placement & Service Bond
Selected candidates will undergo one-year training at various places. The final posting will be at any of the Stations/Projects/JVs/Subsidiaries of NTPC across India, and all posts are transferable.
- Service Bond for General, EWS, and OBC categories: Rs. 2,50,000/-
- Service Bond for SC, ST, and PwBD categories: Rs. 1,25,000/-
Candidates are required to serve the company for at least 3 years after successful completion of training.

It is crucial that the Email ID entered in the online application form remains valid for at least one year. After successful application, candidates must download and keep a printout of the generated application slip for future correspondence.
