Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Stream-Wise)

  • Petroleum Engineering: Graduate Degree in Petroleum Engineering (min. 60% marks) OR Graduate Degree in Applied Petroleum Engineering (min. 60% marks)
  • Mechanical Engineering: Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks
  • Chemical Engineering: Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% marks
  • Instrumentation Engineering: Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 60% marks
  • Geology: Post Graduate Degree in Geology (min. 60%) OR M.Sc./M.Tech in Petroleum Geoscience (min. 60%) OR M.Sc./M.Tech in Petroleum Geology (min. 60%) OR M.Tech in Geological Technology (min. 60%)

Note: Qualifications must be approved/recognized by relevant statutory bodies. Only candidates who have acquired the qualification on or before the last date of application will be considered.

Salary and Pay Scale (E1 Level)

Selected candidates will be placed at the E1 Level with a Basic Pay Scale of ₹60,000 – 1,80,000/-. In addition to the basic pay, various allowances are provided, including an annual increment @ 3%, allowances @ 35% of Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, Dearness Allowance, HRA/Company Accommodation, Provident Fund, Medical Facility, Gratuity, and other benefits as per Company rules. The overall package is approximately ₹26 lacs CTC.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their CBT scores in a 1:5 ratio.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview.
  3. Medical Fitness: Candidates must clear a medical examination as per ONGC rules.

The final selection weightage is 85% for CBT score and 15% for Interview.

Qualifying Marks

  • CBT: General/EWS/OBC candidates need a minimum of 45%; SC/ST/PwBD candidates need a minimum of 40%.
  • Interview: General/EWS/OBC candidates need a minimum of 60% (9 out of 15 marks); SC/ST/PwBD candidates need a minimum of 40% (6 out of 15 marks).
