PGIMER Chandigarh Recruitment 2026 Notification Out

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has released Advertisement No. PGI/RC/053/2026/2192, dated 1 September 2026. This notification invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for a total of 60 Group 'A', 'B' & 'C' posts. Out of these, 57 Group 'C' posts are for PGIMER, Chandigarh, and 3 posts (Group 'A', 'B' & 'C') are for the PGI Satellite Centre, Sangrur, Punjab, on a direct recruitment basis.

Eligibility Criteria, Qualification & Pay Scale

Age Limit (as on 19.10.2026)

• Medical Officer: 18–30 years
• Computer Programmer: 18–35 years
• All other posts (Pharmacist Grade-II, Library Attendant Grade-I, Animal Attendant, Barber, Multi Tasking Staff): 18–30 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years
• PwBD + OBC: 13 years
• Central Govt. Civilian Employees (General/UR), Group C, min. 3 years' service: Up to 40 years
• Central Govt. Civilian Employees (OBC), Group C: Up to 43 years
• Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ST), Group C: Up to 45 years
• Permanent employees of PGIMER, Chandigarh: 10 years (subject to being at least 2 years short of superannuation age)

Application Fee

Fee is payable online. Candidates applying for multiple posts must pay separately for each post. The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all posts. For Group 'A' posts, an interview will also be conducted after the CBT. For Group 'B' & 'C' posts, selection will be based solely on CBT merit.

• CBT will be in English only, with 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
• Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for General/EWS and 35% for SC/ST/OBC (separately for CBT and interview).
• Examination cities (tentative): Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh/Mohali, Dehradun, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, and Shimla.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official website, www.pgimer.edu.in, and click on the Recruitment link.
2. Register using a valid personal email ID and mobile number.
3. Fill in mandatory registration details (Advertisement No., Date, Name, Date of Birth, Mobile No. & Email ID).
4. Log in with the provided User ID and password to complete the Application Form (personal info, qualifications, experience, document uploads).
5. Upload a scanned photograph (50–80 KB, taken on/after 1 June 2026, with name and date visible) and legible scanned copies of all required certificates.
6. Submit the form and complete the online payment via Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card.
7. Take a printout of the submitted application form for your records.
8. Candidates already in government/semi-government/autonomous body employment must forward their application through the proper channel to the Administrative Officer, Recruitment Cell, within 10 days of the closing date.
