Eligibility Criteria for PNB LBO Recruitment 2026

Nationality/Citizenship:

An applicant must be a Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in the last four categories require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India and local language proficiency.

Educational Qualification (as on 09.08.2026):

  • A Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized/approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate confirming graduate status on the day of registration.

Local Language Requirement:

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the specified local language of the applied state is mandatory. A Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) will be conducted for candidates who have not studied the local language in Class 10 or 12.

Post-Qualification Experience (as on 09.08.2026):

  • Minimum one year of post-qualification work experience in Clerical/Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.

Salary and Perquisites

Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of Rs. 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920 under JMGS-I. In addition to Basic Pay, benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), HRA/Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits, and other perquisites as per Bank rules.

Selection Process for PNB LBO 2026

The selection process will involve four phases, though the Bank reserves the right to adopt all or any of these modes:

There will be negative marking (one-fourth of the marks for each wrong answer). Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for Reserved categories in each section.

Personal Interview:

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview carrying 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 45% (22.50 marks) for SC/ST and 50% (25 marks) for other candidates.

Final Selection:

Final selection will be based on combined performance in the Online Written Test and Personal Interview, subject to qualifying the LLPT (where applicable). A state-wise and category-wise merit list will be prepared.
