A total of 3289 vacancies are available for the Assistant Lineman post, including backlog and new posts. The distribution of vacancies is as follows:

• General: 715
• EWS: 183
• SC (MZB): 544
• SC (OT): 541
• BC: 440
• Ex-servicemen (XSM): 129
• Person with Disability (PWD): 347
• Sports Person (SP): 132
• Freedom Fighter (FF): 18
• Other reserved categories also have vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in Lineman Trade.
• Knowledge of Punjabi language at least at Matriculation level.

Age Limit:

• Candidates should not be below 18 years and above 37 years as on 01/01/2026.
• Age relaxation is applicable for SC, BC, Ex-Servicemen, PWD, and other categories as per government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

1. Computer Based Online Test (CBT)
2. Document Checking

Exam Pattern:

• Part-I: Qualifying Test of Punjabi Language (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
• Part-II: Technical & General Questions (100 Questions, 100 Marks) including Technical (Lineman Trade), Punjabi Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Arithmetic.
• No negative marking.
• Part-I requires a minimum of 50% marks to qualify.
