PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026 Reopen Notification Out

The Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab (PSSSB) has reopened online applications for the post of Clerk under Advertisement No. 02 of 2026. This is a golden opportunity for eligible candidates who have not yet applied to submit their online applications.

The reopened application window is from 25 August 2026 to 7 September 2026. Candidates who already applied during the original application window (13 February 2026 to 6 March 2026) are not required to apply again.

This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 531 Clerk (Common Cadre) posts across various Punjab Government departments. The selection process involves a written examination, a typing test, and document verification. Vacancy Details

A total of 531 Clerk (Common Cadre) posts are available. A detailed department-wise and category-wise breakup is provided in the official Annexure to the corrigendum.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution, or its equivalent.
• Computer Proficiency: At least a 120-hour course with working experience in the use of Personal Computers/Information Technology in Office Productivity Applications or Desktop Publishing Applications from a Government-recognized or ISO 9001-certified institution, OR a Computer/Information Technology course equivalent to the 'O' level certificate of DOEACC, Government of India.
• Punjabi Language: Matriculation-level Punjabi or an equivalent qualification, as required under Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994. A mandatory qualifying test of Punjabi Language equivalent to Matriculation standard, with a minimum of 50% marks, will be conducted.

Salary

Selected candidates for the Clerk post will receive a pay scale of Level-2, Pay ₹19,900/-, as per the pay scales notified for this recruitment.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years for all categories.
• General Category: Maximum 37 years.
• SC and BC candidates (residents of Punjab): Maximum 42 years.
• State and Central Government employees: Maximum 45 years.
• Ex-servicemen (residents of Punjab): As per the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982.
• Physically Handicapped candidates (residents of Punjab): Maximum 47 years (10 years' relaxation).
• Widows, divorcees, and certain other categories of married women: Relaxation up to 40 years.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination: An objective-type (Multiple Choice Questions) written examination will be held in two parts:Part A: Matriculation-level Punjabi Language paper, qualifying nature (minimum 50% marks required).
2. Part B: Merit list prepared based only on marks obtained in Part B (each question 1 mark, 1/4 mark deducted for wrong answers).
3. Typing Test: A qualifying Typing Test in English and Punjabi at a speed of 30 words per minute will be conducted on computer (Punjabi typing in Unicode-compliant Raavi font).
4. Common Merit List: Prepared based on Part-B marks of candidates who qualify the typing test.
5. Counseling/Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling/document verification.

How to Apply for PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026

1. Visit the official website at sssb.punjab.gov.in and click on the "Apply Online" link.
2. New candidates should click "Registration" and fill in their details to generate a User ID and Password.
3. Login using the registered User ID and proceed with the online application.
4. Fill in personal, educational, and other required details accurately.
5. Upload a passport-size photograph (or capture a live photo) and a scanned copy of the signature.
6. Upload scanned copies of the 10th-class certificate, educational qualification certificates, and other mandatory documents.
7. Pay the applicable fee online through the "Make Payment" option.
8. Click "Submit" to complete the application, and take a printout of the submitted Application Form for future reference.

Important Instructions

• Candidates who already applied under the original Advertisement No. 02/2026 window need not apply again.
• A Domicile/Residence Certificate (not more than 5 years old) is mandatory for availing reservation benefits (applicable only to residents of Punjab).
• Category and category code cannot be changed at any stage after submission.
• No corrections are permitted once the Application Form is submitted.
• Only the candidate's own mobile number and email address must be used in the application.
