RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Your Gateway to a PSU Career!

RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has announced the RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026 (Notification No. RCIL/2024/P&A/27/1, dated 28.07.2026). This is a golden opportunity for eligible Indian nationals to join as apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 40 vacancies across Graduate Engineer and Diploma Engineer categories. The apprenticeship training will be for a duration of 1 year, offering valuable experience in a leading PSU. Selected candidates will be posted at RailTel locations across India, including the Corporate Office in New Delhi/Gurgaon and various regional offices.

Vacancy Details

RailTel has announced tentative vacancies for two categories:

• Graduate Engineer Apprentice: 32 Posts
• Diploma Engineer Apprentice: 8 Posts
• Total Vacancies: 40 Posts

Apprentices may be engaged at RailTel's Corporate Office (New Delhi/Gurgaon) or across Northern, Eastern, Southern & Western regional locations. Candidates can opt for a location of their convenience, subject to availability.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate Engineer Apprentice: Full-time regular 4-year Graduation in Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved college with an aggregate of 60% marks in Electronics & Telecommunication, Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any combination of engineering branches where Electronics is one of the main branches.
• Diploma Engineer Apprentice: Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved college with an aggregate of 60% marks in the same branches as listed for Graduate Engineer Apprentice.

Note: Candidates who obtained their qualification through distance learning or part-time mode are not eligible. Those with one year or more of post-qualification experience, or who completed their qualification more than three years ago, or have already undergone/are currently undergoing an apprenticeship, are also ineligible.

Age Limit:

• General Category: 18 to 27 years as on 28.07.2026.
• SC/ST/OBC: Age relaxation will be provided as per Presidential/Governmental Directives.

Stipend Details

Selected candidates will receive a monthly consolidated stipend for the one-year apprenticeship period. No other benefits or allowances are payable.

Selection Process

The selection process for RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026 involves:

1. Preparation of a region/state/location-wise merit list based on online applications, with preference for Government Institution pass-outs.
2. Shortlisting of candidates based on marks obtained in the required qualification and/or through an interview.
3. Medical fitness check as per RailTel's norms.
