Age Limit

For all posts, candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on the last date of submission of the online application.

  • SC/ST/OBC and other specified categories of Uttar Pradesh: Upper age relaxation up to 5 years as per Government Orders.
  • Permanent government employees (3+ years service): Relaxation up to 5 years.
  • Physically handicapped candidates (General category): Up to 5 years for Group-B posts and 10 years for Group-C posts.
  • Physically handicapped candidates (OBC/SC/ST): Up to 10 years for Group-B posts and 15 years for Group-C posts.
  • Ex-servicemen and dependents of Freedom Fighters: Relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Note: Age relaxation is admissible only to candidates who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh; candidates from other states are eligible to apply only against Unreserved (UR) vacancies.

Selection Process

Selection will be made through a two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), conducted bilingually in Hindi and English.

  • Screening Examination: Qualifying in nature, shortlists 10 times the number of advertised posts (category-wise) for the Main Examination. Marks are not carried forward.
  • Main Examination: Final selection based solely on marks obtained in this exam, prepared category-wise based on merit and reservation norms.
  • Exam Pattern: Both Screening and Mains exams carry 100 marks each, 2 hours duration, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 60 marks on subject-related topics, 10 marks each on General English, General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Mathematical Aptitude.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer; 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Marks: 50% for Unreserved and EWS candidates; 40% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates.
  • Skill Test: Conducted after the Main Exam for the Stenographer post (Stenography/Typing Test). It is qualifying in nature, and its marks are not counted in the final merit.
