RRB JE Recruitment 2026: Apply for 4029 Posts

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 04/2026 for recruitment to the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA).

As per Corrigendum-1, the total number of vacancies has been increased from 3,993 to 4,029 posts. A total of 36 additional vacancies have been added, including 35 posts of Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) and 1 additional post of Junior Engineer/Electrical/TRS.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official RRB website. The online application process will start on 14 August 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is 13 September 2026.

Change in Total Vacancies Under CEN 04/2026

Following the release of Corrigendum-1, the total vacancies have been revised as follows:

Therefore, candidates will now be considered for a total of 4,029 vacancies under RRB CEN 04/2026.

One Additional Vacancy for Junior Engineer/Electrical/TRS

One additional vacancy has also been added for the post of Junior Engineer/Electrical/TRS under RRB Secunderabad.

This additional vacancy has resulted in a revision of the vacancy position for RRB Secunderabad.

RRB-wise Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification

Junior Engineer (JE)

Candidates applying for JE posts must possess the required Diploma or Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized institution. The exact qualification may vary depending on the specific JE post.

Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)

Candidates applying for DMS must have the prescribed Engineering/Technical qualification as specified for the post in the official notification.

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

For the CMA post, candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute and must have secured at least 45% marks.

CMA Educational Qualification

The following types of B.Sc. qualifications are acceptable for the CMA post:

1. B.Sc. with Physics as a main/special subject or Honours, with Chemistry as one of the subjects.
2. B.Sc. with Chemistry as a main/special subject or Honours, with Physics as one of the subjects.
3. B.Sc. with another Science subject, such as Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics, as the main/special subject or Honours, provided that both Physics and Chemistry are included as subjects in the course.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limit is:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 33 Years
• Age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved-category candidates as per Government rules.

Salary and Pay Level for CMA

The Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) post is placed under Pay Level-6.

• Pay Level: Level 6
• Initial Pay: ₹35,400

Medical Standard

The B1 Medical Standard has been prescribed for the CMA post. The Corrigendum also includes provisions related to the additional B-2 Medical Standard.
