SBI Manager Security / Deputy Manager Security Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 60 Posts

The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Manager (Security) and Deputy Manager (Security) under its Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO) recruitment 2026. A total of 60 vacancies have been announced for these posts on a regular basis.

This recruitment is intended for graduates who have the prescribed officer-level experience in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force or paramilitary forces. Candidates must also meet the specified rank, service experience and medical fitness requirements.

The online application process started on 4 November 2026 and will continue until 25 November 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the SBI Careers portal.

SBI Vacancy Details 2026

SBI has announced a combined total of 60 vacancies for Manager (Security) and Deputy Manager (Security). The notification does not provide separate vacancy numbers for the two designations.

Category-Wise Vacancy Distribution

The vacancies are provisional and may change according to the actual requirements of the bank.

Post Details and Grade

Both positions are regular Specialist Cadre Officer posts in SBI.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline from a university or institution recognised by the Government.

However, graduation alone is not sufficient. Applicants must also satisfy the prescribed military or paramilitary rank and service-experience requirements.

1. Manager (Security)

Candidates applying for Manager (Security), MMGS-III, must meet either of the following conditions:

• Be an officer not below the rank of Major in the Indian Army or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy or Air Force, with at least 10 years of commissioned service.
• OR be an officer not below the rank of Deputy Commandant in paramilitary forces, with at least 10 years of service as an officer in the respective force.

2. Deputy Manager (Security)

Candidates applying for Deputy Manager (Security), MMGS-II, must meet either of the following conditions:

• Be an officer not below the rank of Captain in the Indian Army or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy or Air Force, with at least 5 years of commissioned service.
• OR be an officer not below the rank of Assistant Commandant in paramilitary forces, with at least 5 years of service as an officer in the respective force.

Experience Comparison

Important: The required experience must be completed by 31 October 2026. Candidates must upload the relevant experience and service certificates.

Medical Fitness Requirement

Candidates must possess medical fitness in SHAPE-1 or an equivalent medical category as specified in the notification.

• Retired candidates must provide the relevant medical-category details from their discharge book or service record.
• Candidates currently serving must upload their latest Medical Board document showing their medical category.

Applications without the required medical documents may not be considered for shortlisting or interview.

Age Limit

The age limit for both posts is calculated as on 31 October 2026.

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates as per Government of India rules.

Candidates claiming age relaxation must provide the required supporting certificates. Cumulative age relaxation is not permitted.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the applicable SBI Middle Management Grade Scale.

Selection Process

SBI Security Officer Exam Pattern 2026

The online examination will contain objective-type questions.

Important Examination Instructions

• Total questions: 200.
• Total marks: 200.
• Examination duration: 2 hours.
• Reasoning Ability, English Language and General Awareness are qualifying in nature.
• Professional Knowledge carries 100 marks and is considered for the written-test component of final merit.
• Minimum qualifying marks in the qualifying sections will be decided by SBI.
• There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Interview and Final Merit

The personal interview carries 100 marks.

The final merit will be prepared using the following weightage:

Job Responsibilities

Selected Manager and Deputy Manager (Security) officers will help improve security arrangements at SBI branches and offices.

Their responsibilities may include:

• Conducting periodic security audits.
• Reviewing security arrangements at branches and offices.
• Recommending improvements to security systems.
• Organising security drills and awareness programmes.
• Supporting disaster-management planning.
• Visiting branches to assess security requirements.
• Coordinating with civil, military, police and other government authorities.
• Performing other security-related administrative duties assigned by SBI.

Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India according to the bank's requirements.
