Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for the SSC SSA / UDC Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2025, inviting applications for 65 vacancies. This is an exclusive internal promotion examination for serving Lower Division Clerks (LDC/JSA) of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

Eligibility Criteria:
- Who Can Apply: Only regularly appointed Lower Division Clerks (LDC/JSA) serving in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) under DoPT.
- Length of Service: Minimum 5 years of approved and continuous service in LDC grade as on 01.08.2025 (with certain conditions for those appointed through competitive examination).
- Typewriting Test: Must have passed the typewriting test conducted by UPSC/SSC for confirmation in LDC grade (or obtained exemption with valid order).
- Important Note: This is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination. Freshers and candidates from other departments are not eligible.

Selection Process:
The selection will be made through the following two stages, totaling 300 Marks:

- Last Date for Hard Copy (through Department): 23 July 2026 (upto 6:00 PM)
- Computer Based Examination (Tentative): August 2026
How to Apply:
Eligible serving LDCs must apply through the following two-step process:
- Step 1: Visit https://ssc.gov.in and complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal (if not already done).
- Step 2: Login and click on “Apply” for “Senior Secretariat Assistant / Upper Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025”.
- Step 3: Fill the online application form carefully, upload live photograph, signature and required documents.
- Step 4: Submit the application online and take a printout.
- Step 5: Get the printed application forwarded through your Head of Department / Head of Office and send it to SSC (Northern Region), New Delhi so as to reach by 23 July 2026 (6:00 PM).
Note: Only applications received through proper channel (forwarded by HOD/HOO) will be accepted. Online submission alone is not sufficient.
