The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Civil Services Examination – IV (Group IV Services) 2026. Through this recruitment drive, a total of 6,574 vacancies will be filled for various posts in different departments.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification varies according to the post. Candidates should carefully check the eligibility requirements for the post they wish to apply for.

General Educational Qualification

For most posts, candidates must have passed the SSLC (10th Standard) examination or an equivalent qualification.

Typist / Steno-Typist and Related Posts

Candidates applying for these posts must generally have passed SSLC along with the prescribed Typewriting and/or Shorthand qualifications in the required grades.

Junior Administrative Assistant (Computer Operator)

Candidates must have passed SSLC along with the prescribed Typewriting qualification and a Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation, as applicable.

Degree-Level Posts

TNPSC Group IV Exam Pattern 2026

The TNPSC Group IV examination will be conducted as a single OMR-based objective-type examination. The question paper will contain a total of 200 questions, carrying 300 marks, and the examination duration will be 3 hours.

Important: Part B and Part C will be evaluated only if the candidate secures the prescribed minimum 40% marks in Part A. Candidates should refer to the official notification for the detailed marking scheme and examination rules.
