The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC), Haridwar, has released the official notification for the Tax and Revenue Inspector Examination 2026 (Advertisement No. A-1/DR(TRI)/S-2/2026). This recruitment drive aims to fill 29 vacancies for the post of Tax and Revenue Inspector under the Uttarakhand Palika (Centralized) Revenue Service, Urban Development Department.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Mandatory: A Bachelor's Degree from a university established by law in India.
• Preferential (if all else is equal): Served in Territorial Army for minimum two years, or obtained NCC "B" or "C" certificate.
• Additionally, candidates must satisfy specific residency/educational criteria related to Uttarakhand, as detailed in the official notification.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026):

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 42 years
• Date of birth should be after 1 July 2005 and not before 2 July 1984.

Age relaxation is applicable for Uttarakhand SC/ST/OBC (5 years), Divyangjan (10 years), Dependents of Uttarakhand Freedom Fighters (5 years), and Ex-servicemen (as per rules).

Selection Process

The selection will be based purely on a Written Examination (Objective Type). There is no interview or physical test mentioned for this post.

Negative marking applies: one-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted will be deducted for each wrong answer.

• Unreserved (UR): 45%
• OBC: 40%
• EWS: 40%
• SC / ST: 35%

The examination will cover General Hindi (Varna Vichar, word groups, word formation, synonyms, antonyms, grammar, etc.) and General Studies (Current events, Sports, History, Constitution, Polity, Economy, Geography, Science, Agriculture, Urbanization, and specific knowledge of Uttarakhand's history, culture, geography, economy, and administration).
