Important Information for UPSC CDS 2 Recruitment :-

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS II) Recruitment 2024 on its official website. A total of 459 vacancies have been declared for CDS II Recruitment, the online application process for which has started from 15th May 2024. Candidates can apply online till 4th June 2024. Candidates can make corrections in their application form from June 5 to June 11, 2024. The examination for these posts will be conducted by 1 September 2024. Candidates interested in Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS II) Recruitment 2024 can apply on the official website given below.

Age Limit for UPSC CDS 2 Recruitment :-

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has specified the age criteria for candidates applying for the Combined Defense Services Examination 2024 (CDS II) recruitment. For the Indian Military Academy (IMA), unmarried male candidates born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2006, are eligible. Similarly, for the Indian Naval Academy, unmarried male candidates born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2006, are eligible. For the Air Force Academy, candidates must be between 20 to 24 years of age as of July 1, 2025, i.e., born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2005. The maximum age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is 26 years, i.e., born between July 2, 1999, and July 1, 2005.

1. For Indian Military Academy (IMA): Must be born between July 2, 2001 to July 1, 2006.

2. For Indian Naval Academy: Must be born between 2 July, 2001 to 1 July, 2006.

3. For Air Force Academy: Must be born between July 2, 2001 to July 1, 2005. Candidate's age should be between 20 years to 24 years as on July 1, 2025

4. The maximum age limit for Commercial Pilot License holders is 26 years, who should be born between July 2, 1999, to July 1, 2005.

Application Fee for UPSC CDS 2 Recruitment :-

Candidates applying for the Combined Defense Services Examination 2024 (CDS II) recruitment conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be required to pay an application fee. General and OBC category candidates will need to pay a fee of Rs. - 200/-, while SC and ST category candidates will not be required to pay any application fee; their application is free of charge. Candidates must make payment of their examination fee by June 4, 2024, through debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI, or other modes of payment.

Educational Qualification for UPSC CDS 2 Recruitment :-

Candidates applying for Combined Defense Services Examination 2024 (CDS II) Recruitment of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) must have the educational qualifications as per the following posts:-

(i) For Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officers Training Academy, Chennai, a candidate must have a degree from a recognized university or its equivalent qualification.

(ii) A candidate for the Indian Naval Academy must have an Engineering degree from a recognized university or institute.

(iii) A candidate for Air Force Academy must have a degree from a recognized university, including Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level, or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Candidates who are appearing in the final year/semester degree examination can also apply, provided they do not have any pending backlog at the time of application. Proof of passing the degree examination will be required to be presented at the beginning of the course.

Exam Pattern for UPSC CDS 2 Recruitment :-

The examination for candidates applying for the Combined Defense Services Examination 2024 (CDS II) recruitment of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be of two hours and will be conducted in both English and Hindi languages. There will be 100 questions in Elementary Mathematics, 120 questions in General English, and 120 questions in General Knowledge. One mark will be given for each correct answer, while one-third mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
