Eligibility Criteria (Overview)

Candidates must meet specific age, qualification, and experience requirements for each post. Below is a general overview:

• Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor: Post-Graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant specialty with 3 years' teaching experience.
• Assistant Editor: Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Mass Communication or related field with a diploma, and 3 years' editing/publishing experience.
• Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale): Recognised medical qualification (MBBS-equivalent) plus PG degree/diploma in relevant specialty with 3-5 years' experience.
• Assistant Public Prosecutor: Degree in Law with 3 years' experience at the bar.
• Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer: Bachelor's degree in Law with 2 years' actual practice at the bar. Domicile of UT of Ladakh is mandatory for this post.

Application Fee

• Fee Payable: ₹25/- (Rupees Twenty-Five only)
• Exemptions: Women candidates, and candidates belonging to SC, ST or Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) of any community are exempted from fee payment.

Age Limit & Relaxation

• General Age Limit (UR/EWS): Varies by post, generally up to 30-40 years.
• SC/ST Candidates: 5 years' relaxation.
• OBC Candidates: 3 years' relaxation (for posts reserved for them).
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years' relaxation (cumulative with other relaxations, max 56 years).

Selection Process

The recruitment is primarily "by Selection", which is interview-based. However, if a large number of applications are received, UPSC may conduct a Recruitment Test (RT) for shortlisting candidates. Candidates must achieve minimum suitability marks in both the RT (if held) and the interview.

• Interview Minimum Suitability (out of 100 marks):UR: 50 marks
• OBC: 45 marks
• SC/ST/PH: 40 marks

Recruitment Test Centers (if held): Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam. For Ladakh post: Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, and Delhi.
