Scheme Objective

The National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (Nutri-Cereals) in Haryana aims to:

  • Increase the production of rice, wheat, pulses, millets (maize and barley), commercial crops (cotton, jute, and sugarcane), and nutri-cereals (Shree Anna) by expanding area, adopting diverse cropping systems, and enhancing productivity sustainably.
  • Restore soil fertility and productivity at the farm level.
  • Boost the agro-based economy to increase farmers' income.
  • Promote post-harvest value addition at the farm gate for better price realization through efficient market linkages.
  • Increase the Seed Replacement Rate (SRR) and Variety Replacement Rate (VRR).
  • Improve the infrastructure of the seed sector in the country.

Scheme Scope

The National Food Security & Nutrition Mission (Millets) scheme is implemented in the districts of Panchkula, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Hisar, Jhajjar, and Charkhi Dadri (7 districts) of Haryana.

Guidelines for Subsidy

  • Interested farmers must register on the 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora' portal.
  • After registration, farmers must provide details of their millet crops on the department's portal.
  • A farmer can avail benefits up to a maximum of 5 acres (2.5 acres for certified seed distribution).
  • 20% of the benefit is reserved for Scheduled Caste/Women Farmers/Small & Marginal Farmers.
  • Farmers need to register online for the purchase of agricultural inputs and upload receipts from government/semi-government/cooperative societies or authorized vendors as per the recommendations of Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.
