Waterlogging and soil salinity have become serious challenges for agricultural productivity in many parts of India, especially in Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. To address this issue and improve farmers’ income, the government is implementing the Water Logged and Saline Land Reclamation Project. Under this scheme, affected land is reclaimed and restored for productive agricultural use.

Objective of the Scheme

The primary objective of this project is to reclaim waterlogged and saline land and enhance agricultural productivity.

Key Highlights of the Scheme

According to groundwater survey data, approximately 982,740 acres of land are affected by waterlogging and salinity, out of which around 174,470 acres are severely affected. To address this issue, the government has launched a large-scale land reclamation program.

Land Reclamation Techniques

The following techniques are used under the scheme:

Eligibility Criteria

Farmers must meet the following conditions to apply:

  • The land must fall within the project area.
  • Only the landowner is eligible to apply.
  • Revenue records and bank account details must be available.
  • Written consent of the farmer is mandatory.

Registration Fee

Applicants are required to pay a:

₹1,000 Registration Fee

This amount will be adjusted against the farmer’s contribution to the project.

Farmers’ Contribution

Farmers are required to contribute approximately 20% of the total reclamation cost.

  7. Submit the application form.
  8. Download and save the acknowledgment receipt.
