Educational Qualification

Jailor (K.K. cadre only)Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Preference for Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Correctional Administration.
Warder (Vikshakaru)SSLC examination pass or equivalent.
Second Grade Teacher / Instructor Grade-IISSLC or equivalent, AND Diploma or Certificate in relevant trade from a Government-recognised institution.
Warder cum Nursing (K.K. cadre only)SSLC or equivalent, AND certificate in First Aid.

Candidates must have obtained the prescribed qualification result as on the closing date of application submission.

Kannada Language Requirement

Candidates who studied Kannada as a first or second language subject in SSLC/equivalent, or studied through Kannada medium, are exempt. Others must qualify a Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA, securing a minimum of 50 out of 150 marks.

Age Limit (as on closing date of application)

Minimum age: 20 years. The previous upper age limit has been increased by 5 years.

4. Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify in the Written Examination and PST/Endurance Test will undergo a medical examination by a Medical Board. Conditions such as colour blindness, night blindness, flat feet, knock knees, etc., may lead to disqualification.

Training, Probation & Pension

  • Training: Selected candidates must undergo basic training and pass all prescribed tests.
  • Probation Period: 2 years from the date of appointment.
  • Pension: National Pension Scheme (NPS) applies.

Documents Required

At the time of Document Verification, candidates must carry a call letter along with any one of the original photo-ID documents like Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, etc.
