OPTCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a Government of Odisha Undertaking, has announced a recruitment drive for 100 Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade Apprentices. Vacancy Details & Stipend

A total of 100 apprentice seats are available across four apprenticeship types and eleven disciplines. The number of vacancies may change as per corporation requirements, and unfilled seats may be filled from other disciplines within the same apprenticeship type. Reservation rules will be applicable.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

All qualifications must be from a recognised Board/Council/University/Institute, completed as a regular full-time course. For Non-Engineering Apprentices, graduation in non-engineering disciplines such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, or BBA, or equivalent, shall be preferred.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Only Indian nationals belonging to the state of Odisha are eligible to apply.
• Candidates must meet the minimum physical standard prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
• Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, or have job experience of one year or more, are not eligible.
• Candidates currently appearing for the requisite essential qualifying examination are not eligible.
• Candidates must hold the passing certificate or final year marksheet of the required qualification as on 1 July 2026.
• The gap between the date of joining Apprenticeship Training and the date of passing the essential qualifying examination must not be more than 3 years. The qualifying examination must have been passed during Academic Year 2023–24, 2024–25, or 2025–26.
• Candidates must be registered on the NAPS/NATS portal, and their bank account must be Aadhaar-seeded for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the stipend.

Age Limit

The candidate should not be less than 18 years of age as on 1 August 2026. No maximum age limit is specified in the notification.

Stipend Details

OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend to Degree Engineering, Diploma Technician, and Degree Non-Engineering Apprentices, with the remaining 50% paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOPT) through DBT. Stipend is entitled from the online contract date, subject to satisfactory performance.

Application Fee

Selection Process

Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, written test, or interview, as required for the respective discipline. The exact mode of selection may vary by discipline.

• OPTCL follows a transparent and merit-based apprenticeship selection process.

• Furnishing false or incorrect information will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• The decision of OPTCL Management is final and binding on all matters relating to eligibility, selection, and cancellation.
• Filling of seats is at OPTCL's discretion; no claim will be entertained if seats remain unfilled.

Period of Apprenticeship Training

• The training period is one year (12 months), commencing from the online contract date.
• Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee employment with OPTCL.
• Training will be provided at various OPTCL units across Odisha; no accommodation or allowance will be provided. Apprentices must adhere to safety rules.

1. Register on NATS/NAPS portal:
   • Degree Engineering (Electrical, IT, Telecom), Diploma (Electrical, Telecom, Civil), and Degree Non-Engineering (HR, Finance, Law) aspirants must register on the NATS 2.0 portal at nats.education.gov.in.
   • ITI Trade apprentices must register on the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
   • Ensure Aadhaar is seeded with your bank account for DBT.
2. Apply on the OPTCL website: After generating the registration/enrolment number from the NATS/NAPS portal, visit www.optcl.co.in → click "HRD Section" → click "Training & Development" → click "Advertisement for Engagement of Apprentices 2026" → click "Apply Online."
