Competitive Pricing and Variants
The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is available in three distinct variants, catering to different needs and budgets:
| Variant | Price (Ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| CLA 200 Standard Range Progressive Line | Rs 55 lakh |
| CLA 250+ Long Range AMG Line | Rs 59 lakh |
| CLA 250+ Long Range Launch Edition (Limited) | Rs 64 lakh |
Exciting Features of the Launch Edition
The limited-run CLA 250+ Long Range Launch Edition comes packed with exclusive features. It boasts a Superscreen with three digital displays, a striking matte black exterior finish, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, illuminated door sills, and unique edition-specific ambient lighting. Inside, occupants will find luxurious leather upholstery and premium trim materials, enhancing the overall sense of exclusivity.
Performance and Range
Both the AMG Line trim and the Launch Edition are powered by a robust 85kWh NMC battery pack. This battery feeds a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers a potent 272hp and 335Nm of torque. This setup allows the CLA EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 6.7 seconds. Mercedes-Benz claims an impressive WLTP-certified range of up to 792km on a single charge, further complemented by a two-speed gearbox for optimized efficiency. The CLA 200 Standard Range, on the other hand, features a 58kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 542km. Its electric motor produces 224hp and 335Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Rapid Charging Capabilities
One of the standout features of the new CLA EV is its advanced 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging. The car can support charging speeds of up to 320kW, allowing for a remarkable 300km range top-up in just 10 minutes. This technology significantly reduces charging anxiety for long journeys.
Designed for Indian Conditions
Mercedes-Benz has thoughtfully adapted the CLA EV for the Indian driving environment. The company has increased the ground clearance and revised the suspension system to better handle diverse road conditions across the country, ensuring a comfortable and capable ride.
Futuristic Interior and Technology
The cabin of the Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is a testament to modern automotive design, prioritizing a minimalist and screen-centric experience. The dashboard is dominated by a dual-screen setup, featuring a 10.25-inch digital driver's display and a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The three-spoke steering wheel comes with intuitive touch-sensitive controls, and a carbon-fibre finish on the centre console adds a sporty flair. Notable interior features include 64-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, six 100W USB-C fast-charging ports, seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, advanced connected car technology, and the latest MBUX system with AI capabilities.
Aerodynamic Design
The exterior design of the CLA EV emphasizes aerodynamics, boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.21. The sedan features a low stance, an extended wheelbase, and short overhangs for a balanced and sporty profile. The front is characterized by a gloss-black closed grille panel with illuminated star-pattern elements and a prominent Mercedes emblem. Slim LED headlamps are connected by a light bar, and functional air inlets in the bumper manage cooling and airflow efficiently. The car retains classic CLA design cues like frameless doors and a sloping roofline, along with flush door handles and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. The rear design mirrors the front's sophistication with a full-width LED light bar and star-pattern detailing. Chrome accents and a grille adorned with 142 small backlit stars add further visual appeal. A panoramic glass roof with heat-protective coating completes the premium look.
With its blend of luxury, advanced technology, impressive range, and competitive pricing, the Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is poised to be a significant player in India's burgeoning electric luxury car market.
